Regression Test |
During the previously mentioned test phases, but also later during correction package tests, many test cases that were already performed on earlier software releases need to be repeated in order to secure the basic functionality of the system. Such tests are especially worthwhile for automation, as they have the highest re-usage factor and are the least attractive for manual execution.
As automatic testing saves time, regression tests can either be faster or much more thoroughly performed (more tests in a given time) with LTS than possible for a human tester. This in turn improves the quality of the software release, results in fewer trouble reports and thus saves costs and shortens the time to market. |
